SRC agree with reducing rate of PTPTN loan

PUTRAJAYA 13 Ogos - Kadar caj perkhidmatan pinjaman Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Negara (PTPTN) diturunkan kepada satu peratus berbanding tiga peratus sebelum ini, berkuat kuasa 1 Jun lalu.

Keputusan tersebut diumumkan oleh Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin di sini hari ini. - Utusan

SRC views the decision by the Ministry of Higher Education to reduce the service charge of PTPTN loan to 1 % into very positive decision. The most important effect of this new decisoin is to reduce the load of the IPT students to pay the loan after they finish their study. However SRC still hope the Ministry of Higher Education to cancel the service charge as it still result to give load to the students even with a minimal amount.Additionally, the borrower of PTPTN should take this decision into win-win situation by taking action to pay the loan after they finish their study.

Konvensyen MPP IPTA Kebangsaan 2008

On 25-27 August 2008, SRC joined Konvensyen MPP IPTA Kebangsaan 2008 which was held in ESSET, Bangi, Selangor. This convention has collected SRC ECXO from about 20 IPTA in Malaysia with a theme of "Mahasiswa Pewaris Kepimpinan Negara". This convention is officially launched by Minister of Higher Education, datp' Seri Mohamed Nordin Khalid and it consisted of paper presentation from various speakers. At teh end of this convention, the SRC from various IPTA made some resolution which consisted of various national issues to be brought to Higher Education Ministry.

SRC visit to IPTS around Kuantan

On 19th July 2008, SRC had a work visit to 3 IPTS around Kuantan namely KIPSAS, POLISAS dan IKIP. 7 of SRC ECXO joined this visit. We made some discussions and mind interchange between the SRC of these campuses. Most of the discussions focused on issues of students' welfare in each campus. Thanks to them for welcoming us for this visit.
