Cancellation of SRC Annual Grand Meeting

Attention to all IIUM Kuantan students, kindly be informed that the Annual Grand Meeting (AGM) of SRC which has been planned on 19th October 2008 is already cancelled . For the time being, we only have the AGM of SRC in IIUM main campus which will be held on that date. We are very sorry about this matter. Thank you.

IIUM Kuantan Festival (I-QUEST 2008)

IIUM Kuantan Festival (I-Quest) is an annual programme organized by IIUM Kuantan Campus. This is the second time the University hold this Open Day programme.

For this 2008/2009 session, the theme is ‘Revealing Science, Reviving Islam‘ as the main purpose of this programme for this time is to promote IIUM Kuantan Campus as a Medical-and-Sciences-based campus, together with the Islamization concept that has become an integral part of this university. We hope the society will get benefit from the programme.

For this year, the programme will be started on 15th August until 17th August 2008, again, organised by Student’s Representative Council (SRC), International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuantan Campus.

Some great events for I-Quest 2008:

i) Opening Ceremony & Concert

Details: 15/8/08 (8.30pm) at Medicine Square

The Opening Ceremony indicates the commencement of I-Quest 2008. It will be pleasant with performances from “Dikir Barat” and international students. Followed later after the ceremony is the concert by Raihan and Ust. Akhil Hayy. No entrance fee required.

ii) IIUM Medical Museum Open Day

Details: 15/08/08 (3.00pm to 5.00pm), 16-17/08/08 (9.00am to 5.00pm) at lobby Kuliyyah of Medicine

This is the opportunity for all to visit the Medical Musuem of IIUM. This open day aims to inform and educate the public about the correlation of Islam and Science, as well as to let them discover the human body structure created by The Almighty. No entrance fee required.

iii) Exhibition

Details: 15/08/08 (2.00pm to 11.00pm), 16-17/08/08 (9.00am to 11.00pm) at foyer, Multipurpose Hall and lobby Kuliyyah of Medicine.

All Kulliyyah based societies in IIUM Kuantan will be organizing exhibitions that are related to their courses and their future careers. This will improve students’ communication skills as well as to educate the public about health and scientific knowledge. There will also be a medical check up programme done by young doctors-to-be and several other interesting activities. Government and private agencies will also take part in this event. No entrance fee required.

iv) Special Session with Dr HM Tuah Iskandar’s

Details:

• Slot 1 (8.30 am -10.30 am) at Lecture Hall 3, KOM: Teknik Menghadapi Peperiksaan
  
• Slot 2 (11.00 am -12.30 pm) at Medicine Square, KOM: Membina Imaginasi Cemerlang

There will also be a session with Dr HM Tuah Iskandar. In his slot, he will be sharing tips, experiences, views and thought about life and futures as he has gone through many journeys and won many awards before. No entrance fee required.

v) Forum

Details: 16/08/08 (8.00pm) at Medicine Square

There will also be an interesting forum conducted during the I-Quest that will cover topics related to science and Islam and focus will be put on the theme of the programme, which is “Revealing Science, Reviving Islam”. This would be a great chance for the students and the public to get some benefits and inputs.

vi) Remote Control Show

Details: !6/08/08 (10.00am-5.00pm) next to Medicine Square

We have invited RC Flying Club to present us with a magnificent show of of ‘flying’ airplane and helicopter. Come and see how they ‘fly’ the planes and you can also buy your own one to ‘fly’ it yourself.

vii) Netball and Futsal tournament

Details: 15/08/08 from (5.00pm), 16-17/08/08 (9.00am to 5.00pm) at netball court and futsal court, KOM.

This event will be held throughout the I-Quest to promote a healthy lifestyle besides to enlighten the spirit of brotherhood and sportsmanship among the IIUM Community and the public. The tournament will be made open not only to students, but also to staffs and outsiders so that the challenge would be more challenging. The final will be held at the end of the Fiesta to attract more spectators and to fire the spirit of the players to play to their outmost.

viii) Stalls

Details: 15/08/08 (3.00pm to 11.00pm), 16-17/08/08 (9.00am to 11.00pm) in front of Kuliyyah of Pharmacy

This programme will be participated by the IIUM community and external parties that will be held throughout the event. Stalls selling varieties from foods to clothes are to be featured throughout the I-QUEST.

9. Science Exhibition at KOM’s foyer- Kulliyyah of Science
10. Medical Check-up at KOM’s lobby- Volunteer Team (VT) and Kulliyyah of Medicine
